Family on my mother’s side has a long history of Scottish woodworking and architecture. Samuel McIntire built and furnished some of the finest homes in 18th century New England.

McIntire / Macintyre has been spelled many ways over the years but basically translates to “son of the craftsman”.

I grew up in the midwest with hippy parents that redecorated non-stop and they were always fixing up and refinishing another mission rocker or thrift store dining table.

(Mom also made those awesome pants!)

As a family we moved practically every year and looking back I think it was just so mom could redecorate again but she swears that’s not the case.

I also work part-time at a prolific furniture design and manufacturing company, Phase Design, and have formed good working relationships with local wood, metal and upholstery shops.
